January 10, 2022
As our second week of distanced learning begins, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued commitment to your children’s academic, social and emotional growth during this time. I know these past few years have been challenging for our families and school community due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, I am also proud of our community’s resilience to address these challenges time and time again. I hope you have much to look forward to this weekend.
As a reminder, the Hamtramck Public Schools district will continue distance learning this week. This means that students should be prepared to learn online Monday, January 10 through Thursday, January 13. There are no classes on Friday, January 14, as it is a professional development day for our Hamtramck staff. Additionally, the district will be closed on Monday, January 17, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
On Tuesday, January 11, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., food distribution services will be available to any interested families at the following locations listed below. Included in each meal kit are four days of breakfast and lunch, as well as seven days of snacks and suppers.
· Dickinson East Elementary, main entrance
· Early Childhood, entrance off parking lot (Charest Street)
· Hamtramck High School, main entrance
· Holbrook, entrance off Grayling Street
· Kosciuszko Middle School, side entrance off Fleming
· Tau Beta, main entrance
We hope to return to in-person learning soon but must remain diligent in prioritizing the safety of our students and school community. We are grateful for your continued dedication to keeping our school community healthy and encourage you to connect with your child’s school should you have questions.
Thank you for serving as our partner in your child’s education.
Mr. Nabil Nagi
